Finding House Music, Dance, EDM, Techno, or any type of Electronic Music in a city that you are unfamiliar with (including Jacksonville, FL) can be quite the challenge at times.
Luckily, you have this site to help you find what you’re looking for.
Personally, I travel quite a bit… and as a house music and EDM lover myself, there’s nothing worse than being stuck in a new town without a decent place to unwind at the end of the night, or on the weekend.
When traveling abroad, I would search the web for hours in my hotel room looking for house music events only to find “hole in the wall bars”, pubs, mainstream tourist traps, and cheesy top-40 clubs.
It got old REALLY quick.
How To Find House Music
Being from Jacksonville, Florida I thought to myself – I wonder what would happen when someone searched google (or the other top search engines) for the following terms:
- House Music Jacksonville, Florida
- Dance Music Jacksonville, Florida
- Techno Jacksonville, Florida
- Electronic Music Jacksonville, Florida
- EDM Jacksonville, Florida
… or anything related.
So, I tried it myself and wouldn’t you know it – the results I got were just as bad (if not worse) than every other city that I had been in.
“What a poor representation of Jacksonville House Music”, I thought.
The bars and pubs listed were those that advertised in the online yellow pages, yelp, or the local weekly music publications such as folio weekly. There was nothing of any significance, and if there were any decent house music events listed, they were unfortunately outdated and / or no longer happening.
Although Jacksonville is not the biggest city for Electronic, Dance and House music, there is definitely some great talent here with some decent weekly events that any house music connoisseur would enjoy.
I have personally been involved with the Jacksonville, FL house / electronic dance music scene since 1999 after my move from the Washington DC / Baltimore area (read the DJ Kinesis story here).
Always keeping my ear to the ground, I thought it would only be appropriate to assemble a weekly listing of the top house music events in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Knowing that everyone has different tastes, I wanted to keep this listing somewhat generic, not restricted to ONLY one type of house music, but rather all genres of EDM.
The listings below ONLY include underground, quality house music weekly events, or events that bring some type of value to the industry.
You can expect to meet great local people while enjoying incredible music.
I will always do my best to keep this “Jacksonville House Music” calendar of events up to date, but be sure to visit the venue’s website, facebook page, or simply call their info line to confirm the event.

This is awesome! I’m gonna be in Jacksonville in couple of weeks’ time and since I’ve never visited there before, I was afraid I might end up in some lame club. Coming from a DJ this information has to be good and I’ll be sure to check out a few of the places on this list. Thanks Kinesis.
That’s great to hear Leroy! Glad this listing was of help to you. Hope to see you at one of the events 🙂
Wow thanks for the great info DJKinesis. It’s cool that you provide detailed information about the age group and genre. I mean the last thing you want as a 30 year old is to hang out at club where it’s full of 18 year olds. Some guys dig young girls but I ain’t into kiddie play.
Haha – yup. Some of the house music is a bit more “grown up” on some nights as well. It’s nice to have somewhere to go every night but the younger style of house can get a bit tweaky here and there.
I am new to Jacksonville from NYC. House head indeed. I agree that parties that entertain younger crowds can leave a lot to be desired in the experience. I am curious as to how much house you actually play. I have been to too many parties labeled as house that were actually techno/ electronics. It does not suit my taste at all. I can appreciate a mix but it gets to be a bit much, quick. I love classic, deep, soulful house and tribal or afro latin house so I wonder if I should drive the 20 miles to check you. My main concern is not to end up in a space with a room that feels like Ultrafest 2013. Dying for a party though. Are you the DJ who can get the job done?
Hey Shellie, great to hear from you. Yes, we love house… deep soulful house. I will say that at out events that run later into the night we do play tech house as well – not the tweeky stuff you would hear on the main stage at ultra or at the younger events… but just some really good tech house. You can check out some of my sets with this sound here: https://www.djkinesis.com//category/free-music/
I really think that you would enjoy our monthly terrace events at bo’s. More of your style of house is played at these day parties. https://www.djkinesis.com//party
Hope that helps and hope to see you out 🙂
I’ll be in Jacksonville on Friday and I’ll be staying there until the 14th. Will you be Deejaying in any of the clubs during that time? I’ll be there with few of my friends and we can hang out if you’re down with that. Let me know of your availability and I’ll email you separately with your contact form. Thanks~
Hey Jessica, I am at TSI this Friday and Square One the last Saturday of every month. You can get the address and event details above but let me know if you have any questions. See you on the dance floor!
I’ve got 7 days in Jacksonville and I’m gonna be partying every single nights I’m there and drink until my belly explodes. Hey Kinesis if I get to see you at TSI or Square One the beers are on me bro. Maybe you can hook me up with Jessica’s friends 🙂 Thanks for sharing this info bro.
Haha! Hilarious, Kevin. I’ll have a round waiting for you. 😉
Girls, booze, and house music, what more does a man need to make his life complete? You deserve to go to heaven for giving us men the blueprint to happiness in Jacksonville. I’ll be sure to pass along words of your great deed to god. Later Kinesis.
Dude! You’ve got some freaking awesome collection of free music downloads here! You gotta spread the word man. I’ve already tweeted and emailed all my buddies about your page. They can’t believe you’re giving away hours of party mix music for free. I visit Jacksonville a few times a year because my brother moved there, I’ll be sure to check out your DJ gig too man. Keep up the great work.
I got Lure and Chrunchy Sundays penciled in already and I might also go to Bangarang if schedule permits. I would have spent hours if I had to research this on my own, you’re a lifesaver Jon. I’ll see you at TSI and Square one then. Keep the music coming DJ~!
Hey man, where’s the party at on Mondays? I don’t plan to spend a day without partying when visit Jacksonville and I’m going to be there for at least 10 days. Got any suggestion on what I can do on Monday nights in Jacksonville? I’d appreciate any tips. Oh! I almost forgot. Thanks for the list.
Hey Jimmy, great to hear from you! As events come and go, there will always be updates. Stay tuned for the most recent events. If there’s house music in the city and it’s worth while attending, it will be listed here. Hope that helps 🙂
I was in Georgia and Virginia last year and I was totally bummed out because I ended up in some backwater dump of places they called clubs. I am not making the same mistake and visiting another city without deciding exactly where I’m going before I arrive there. Jacksonville I got it covered thanks to this list, but next I need to figure out Charleston South Carolina because I’m going to be there too. Drop me a line if any one’s from SC. Thanks.
I’m definitely going to the 18 to 24 average age clubs. I don’t want to get creeped out by 40 year olds hitting on me, so this age listing is sooooooooooooo helpful. I have a feeling Jacksonville’s going to be amazing and hopefully I’ll get to meet some cool people there too 🙂
Looking for some quality House tonight. Have any recommendations for January 17? Only in town for one night. Thanks!
Hey Scott, unfortunately there’s not a lot going on tonight in regards to great house. If anything comes up I will update you. If you’re just hanging out… you may try shim sham at the beach though.
What is Shim Sham like? Thanks for the quick reply. Much appreciated!
Hey no prob. Shim sham is a cool little indie rock / rock bar. Great atmosphere but if you don’t like it – the ritz, the tavern and the brix are all right next door. A couple of my friends are playing at Dive bar downtown tonight too but that’s more open format – hip-hop, breaks… everything. Depends on what you’re in the mood for.
Hey Kinesis.
Any cool house/techno parties going on tonight? Or tomorrow (Saturday)? Ive never been to a ligit house club or anything down here. I feel so limited here in Jax. There’s not much to do.
Hey Lulu, great to hear from you. There’s actually some pretty cool events around Jax. You just have to know where to look… and it also depends on what style of house music you enjoy.
What style of house are you into? I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction 🙂
My next big show will be at Bo’s next weekend (during the day) and that has all types of house. You can check it out here: https://www.djkinesis.com//party.
Yeah I loved Bo’s. Awesome place. I heard of some party going on at 1904 Music Hall tonight with DJ Kemit or something. Know anything about it?
Absolutely 🙂 Here are the details for that event:

Hello. I will be in Jacksonville the weekend of May 16-18 and was wondering if there is anywhere to go & hear some good house/techno music? Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you!
Hey Amy, good to hear from you. I am actually in San Diego that weekend but I would check in with these promoters depending on what genre you like:

Hope that helps
Where is there house music tonight?
Hey Kinesis,
I am new to Jacksonville residing in Ponte Vedra. I recently moved here from Miami. I have been a tech house producer and DJ for 20 years. I am looking not just for a good club with all the bells and whistles one can see on South Beach but also to perform there too.
I have listened to several of your mixes and am quite impressed on your talent and your unconditional dedication to house music.
I have a lot of experience not just rocking a club with marathon sets but also developing new concepts to promote an event and establishing a culture to the demographic.
That said, I would like to share my ideas with you in hopes that we can create an event that will ground House music as a common peril amongst all bar/club goers in Jacksonville.
Kind Regards,
Johnny Lee

Hey Johnny! Great to hear from you and thanks for the kind words.
I checked out some of your mixes on sound cloud as well – sounds great!
We have an event going on this weekend at my warehouse if you’d like to come and check it out and connect there. You can get the details here:

Hope to see you there!
We are vey excited to meet you and watch you perform Jon Kinesis. Might I add, I have not been around live house music, other then my own since WMC a few months ago. In other words, it’s been a long time my friend.
So this Saturday is inked in our calendar. I am bring a small handful of my crew to celebrate another evening of dirty beats.
See you there!!
Johnny Lee
Jon,
No doubt, I’ll stop by. Do you have a guest list?
Kinesis, I used to frequent club five, the milkbar, paradome etc. In the late 90’s early 2000’s I’ve spent many nights riding out to your sets. I miss those days so bad. Is todays scene anything like back then?
Hey Brian! Great to hear from you. Very cool that you were around in the good ol’ days 🙂
Yes, there is definitely still a good scene here in Jax. We have some great underground house events. I usually have at least 2 or 3 monthly events going on and you can usually find out about them in the above post in the featured section or friend me on facebook and I’ll send out the invites. Hope to see you out soon! https://www.facebook.com/KinesisProductons
